When we first stepped into MANOFFIN we were immediately stunned by the magnificent muffins that were displayed. They were so pretty that we wanted to buy every single one and taste them. Then we looked around at the interior and noticed how cozy and welcoming it felt. It was like we were visiting a friend’s house. We could see a lot of people chatting with their friends but also there were people who were studying or reading books, and they didn’t seem to be interrupted by the noise. What is more, the price was suitable for university students. Muffins were around 2000 won and the coffees were below 5000 won on average. The distance wasn’t far, so it took only about three minutes to walk from the ECC. However if you’re coming from the other side of the Ehwa University, it’ll take much more time. That’s why we gave only three stars for the ‘Distance’. We also gave three stars for ‘Comfort’ because we thought the seats could have been more comfortable.

EHWA SARANG is the best place for Ehwa girls who only have a small amount of money but want to fill their stomachs. Can you see the five stars glittering beside ‘Distance’ and ‘Price’? We don’t give five stars for no reason. EHWA SARANG is in the Posco building which is at the center of the campus which makes it is easy to reach from anywhere in the university. The price is also adequate; most of the menus are below 3000 won. Not only can you taste a cup of coffee for only 900 won, but also have Kimbap and various kinds of breads from Paris Baguette. Besides these, EHWA SARANG has practical places to fix your make up and use the Internet. Thanks to those places, you can also do your business or go out immediately after having a quick meal. However the speed of service has a lot of ups and downs. Sometimes there are so many people that you have to wait in a line and that is very inconvenient for students who are in a hurry. Another thing to worry about is the noise. Because a lot of people use EHWA SARANG, there are a lot of people chatting with friends. So we don’t recommend this place if you are looking forward to reading books with a cup of coffee.

PRINCETON SQUARE is a good place for discussion, studying and reading. It’s especially perfect for studying and reading because of its quiet atmosphere. In fact, the coffee shop does not even have any background music. Princeton Square has various categories of books ranging from humanities to natural science, so it is categorized as a Book Café.
Princeton Square is divided into the two places: the basement and first floor, so there are enough seats for customers to use. There are 42 sofas on the first floor and 24 sofas in the basement. Wired and wireless internet is available in all areas except the eastern seats on the first floor. Also all areas are a smoke-free, so if you want to smoke just move to the rest room or use the emergency exit. In the basement, there are meeting places of various sizes. All meeting rooms are equipped with a whiteboard and a vim projector which costs 5000 won per hour.
Although Princeton Square seems to be a very useful and favorite place for university students, it also has some negative points. People can feel pressure from the price of coffees and beverages which are 7000 won on average. This is because the fee of using tables is included in the price of beverages. So, it will be economical for long hour users. Also, people have to order one beverage for each person. In the weekdays, you can use the table all day long, but you have to pay extra 1000 won per an hour to stay more than 3 hours on the weekend. BUT! It provides its sweet homemade cookies for customers for free!!

STARBUCKS in the ECC is a good place to meet friends. Because it is placed in university, lots of people go there. For this reason we recommend this place to people who want to talk with their friends, rather than to people who want to work on projects.
They have two types of chairs. One is made of wood and the other contains cushions. The wooden chairs are a little bit uncomfortable to sit on, but you can use sofas if you want to stay long with your friends. The best scene in this place is mirror artwork on raining days. When we went there the weather was sunny so we couldn’t see this, but lots of visitors write about this scene in their blogs.
The staff are very kind and they provide quick service. They also provide a take out service if you are short of time. However, you might want to avoid getting take outs during the lunch hour rush time because you will probably have a long wait. It’s a bit expensive because of brand price, but the coffee taste is good. You can use all day in the weekdays.

DR.ROBBIN which is located in the ECC is a good place to chat with friends. It has lots of comfortable cushions and sofas. Also, there are some other chairs to sit on outside of the store. Especially, Dr. Robbin is a really popular store for “Dieters”. It not only sells coffee but also food and gelato without sugar and MSG which leads to the high prices. Even though the price is high, many Ewha girls who are extremely sensitive to a “Diet” go there and have meals. The staff are very kind and their service is really quick for all dishes except pasta. If you want to have a meal with your friends, it will be good for you to avoid the lunch time between 12 p.m. and 2p.m. But it’s okay to order beverages whenever you want. Overall, we recommend Dr. Robbin to people who want to live healthy lives.

Princeton Square which is located at the back gate of Ewha is a perfect place to study. Just visit this place when the Ecc reading room is full of students during the exam period. Lastly, go Starbucks or Dr Robbin to take out coffee right before heading off to class which is in the ECC. Pick the Coffee Shops according to your purpose and your financial condition! J
